Knoxville, Iowa – It took three tries thanks to Mother Nature, but finally Oskaloosa and Knoxville baseball teams got together in Knoxville for a doubleheader Thursday night.

The Indians took advantage of struggling pitching from the Panthers and tallied 20 runs and 20 hits in the two games as they swept the Panthers winning game one 12-3 and game two 8-6 to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Oskaloosa answered with a run in the second inning on the double by Noah Van Veldhuizen and an RBI single from Charlie North. The Indians then tied the game with another run in the fourth on the double by Ethan Christ and an RBI single from Rian Yates.

A huge fifth inning saw Oskaloosa send 11 batters to the plate, scoring five runs off two hits, four walks and a Knoxville error with Tyler Miller, North and Christ all knocking in runs giving Oskaloosa a 9-2 lead. The hot bats continued into the sixth inning as the Indians added two more runs including a 2 RBI single from Wyatt Krier.
