Indians Softball Also Splits With DC-G

The Oskaloosa Softball team split a doubleheader at DC-G Wednesday night winning game one 8-0 while dropping the nightcap 5-2 to improve to 7-2 on the season and 1-1 in LHC play.
In the opening game, Oskaloosa scored eight runs on 13 hits and committed no errors while holding DC-G to 0 runs on only four hits and the Mustangs committed one error. At the plate, Ashley Kindley continued her hot hitting going 3-5 with two runs scored. Ava Vandewall was 2-3 with two doubles, 2 RBI and a run scored. Meghan Moorman went 2-3 with a double and a single and 2 RBI. Faith Deronde was 2-4 with her second home run of the season and a single, one RBI and two runs scored. Taylor Wills had a single and scored a run, and Lauren Coon scored two runs. Hayle Hacker got the win upping her record to 5-1 this season. She pitched all seven innings allowing 0 runs on only four hits while striking out seven and walking none.
DC-G took the second game 5-2 as Osky’s bats cooled down. The Indians scored two runs on just five hits and committed no errors while DC-G scored five runs on ten hits and committed one error. At the plate, Kindley was 2-3 with a run scored, Sophia Dykstra was 2-3 with a double, single and a run scored, and Taylor Wills was 1-3 with an RBI. Faith Deronde suffered the loss dropping her record to 2-1. She threw all six innings allowing five runs, all earned, on ten hits with two strikeouts and 0 walks. Oskaloosa travels to Newton Friday.
