OTTUMWA — Young people looking for an introduction to the field of aviation should plan to attend the 2017 Aviation Youth Rally on Aug. 5 at the Indian Hills Community College North Campus, located at the Ottumwa Airport. The day’s events will run from 8 a.m. to noon.

This interesting, educational and fun workshop is for those ages 8 to 15. Sessions will be given on airplanes, flight simulation, aircraft maintenance, and flight science. Weather permitting, each attendee will also receive an FAA Young Eagle Program orientation flight at no cost. A pizza luncheon follows the workshop and each person who attends will receive a free t-shirt.

The event is entirely free, but you must pre-register in order to attend. Contact Chuck McDonald at 515-964-1398 or email to request an application.
