Indian Swim Team Compete At Marshalltown

The Oskaloosa Indian Boys Swim Team numbers are down this year below expectations but the team showed up with 4 upper classmen and 4 freshman at Roosesvelt High School and they were ready to swim against 2 large 4A schools the Rough Riders and the swim team from Marshalltown. The boys scored 61 points against Marshalltown and another 40 points against Roosevelt. The first race was the 200 Medley Relay and the Indians took fourth place. As Jack Miller(Back), Carson Abrahamson(Breast), Jarod Miller(Fly), and Ean Beenken(Free) came away with a time of 2:15.71. The second race was the 200 Free and Owen Gordan came away with a 5th place finish of 2:18.09 and was followed by Collin Fiechtner with a time of 2:24.78. The third race was swam hard by Jack Dawson as he placed third in the 200IM with a time of 2:32.37. The 50 yard free was swam by Colton Berg with a time of 27.59 and Ean Beenken with a time of 28.80. The following race was the 100 Fly and Jarod Miller earned a second place finish with a time of 1:02.31. The 100 Free was swam by Ean Beenken with a time of 1:04.75 and Colton Berg with a time of 1:05.67. The next race is the most grueling race of the night as Jack Miller swam the 500 Freestyle in a time of 5:47.08 to take home a fourth place finish. The team of Carson, Colton, Colin, and Jack Dawson got together to compete in the 200 Free relay and they finished with a time of 1:52.11. Next up was the 100 back and Jack miller finished fourth with a time of 1:06.24 and Owen Gordon in a time of 1:12.82. The big win of the night came in the 100 Breast as Jarod brought home a first place finish in a time of 1:12.08. The final event on the night was the 400 Free style Relay as the boys took fourth place in a time of 4:19.00 with the team of Jack D., Colin, Owen, and Jack M.
