Indian Hills Performing Survey

Indian Hills

OTTUMWA — Indian Hills Community College is ready to begin a comprehensive survey of its constituents to try and find out what they think about a variety of topics related to the college. The survey, which will be conducted by Patron Insights, Inc., a Kansas City-based market research organization, will start shortly after Labor Day in Indian Hills’ 10-county area.

“This survey will give us a tremendous opportunity to hear from a cross-section of our patrons and assist college officials in learning what hundreds of people think should be our priorities,” said IHCC president Dr. Marlene Sprouse. “People will be able to give their opinions about our performance and help guide us as we continue to provide a life-changing education for our students.”

Dr. Sprouse said the 10- to 15-minute survey will cover a wide variety of topics, and will include “pick one” type questions as well as opportunities for comments from those surveyed.

The firm doing the calling will use professional researchers. The roughly 500 participants will be selected totally at random, and all respondents will be anonymous.

“We really want to hear from the people in our district,” Dr. Sprouse said, “and we encourage them to participate if they get a phone call and let us know what they think about Indian Hills.”
In general, calls will be placed between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays, and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. The caller ID may show “Market Research Associates” or it may simply show an 816 or 913 area code.

The survey process should be completed by around the end of September.
