Hunter Safety Education Classes will be offered this fall in Mahaska County

Iowa Hunter Safety

Any person wanting to take an Iowa Hunter Safety Education Class this fall in Mahaska County can now sign up for one of two classes. Class participants must be 11 years old or older to be eligible to attend the classes and must also complete all requirements to pass. Anyone born after January 1, 1972 must attend a Hunter Education course before they are allowed to purchase an Iowa hunting license. 1) Hunter Education Course
(This is a regular in-class course. Participants must attend classes all four evenings.)
Date: October 16, 18, 23 and 25
Time: 5:30-8:30 p.m. each evening

2) On-Line Field Day
(Participants must first take the online course and bring a certificate of completion and a form of identification to the field day.)
Date: November 28
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: North Mahaska High School
