Houfu Yan is MWC Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week
GRINNELL, Iowa – For the second time this season, Grinnell College’s Houfu Yan ’20 has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
Yan, from Sunnyvale, Calif. (Homestead), claimed three titles at Grinnell’s own Pioneer Classic. He won the 100-yard backstroke in 52.77, 100 butterfly in 1:57.49 and 200 backstroke in 1:57.14. He just missed the meet record in the butterfly by .21 of a second and 100 backstroke by less than a second.
Additionally, Yan was on the runner-up 400 medley relay team that finished in 3:35.74.
