Homeschool Science Lab “Turkey Talk”

The next Homeschool Science Lab hosted by the Mahaska County Conservation Board is coming up on November 7 and 8, 2019 at the Environmental Learning Center. November’s topic will be about wild turkeys; their lives and how they communicate. We will have a turkey craft, listen to various turkey calls and even learn how wild turkeys are alike and different when compared to farm-raised turkeys. Space is limited to 25 children/adults per session. There is no cost to attend. Registration is required!

Please note that there is not a Friday morning session. There will be two other public programs that everyone is welcome to attend.
9:00 – 10:00 am Coffee Break – MCCB will serve coffee and refreshments and share information about one of Mahaska County’s parks. (registration is not needed for Coffee Break)

12:00 – 1:00 pm Critter Café – This is a lunch and learn for kids and their families. Kids will have an opportunity to have
lunch with one of the educational snakes and tour the new snake exhibit. This will be held in the lower level of the ELC. (Registration is not needed for Critter Cafe).
