Holiday Cards for Heroes

OSKALOOSA – VFW Post and Auxiliary 2237 will sponsor a “Holiday Cards for Veteran Heroes” event on Wednesday, November 13th from 4 PM to 7 PM. All ages are welcome to come create holiday cards that will be sent to service men and women.

The goal of the event is to help spread Christmas cheer to veterans and men and women actively serving in the military. “We know it can get lonely for our service members, especially during the holiday season,” said Auxiliary Member Diana Gordin. “Our hope is that we can bring smiles to the faces of the men and women who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice so much for our country,” continued Gordin.

The VFW Post and Aux. 2237 have prepared paper, stickers, markers, and crayons that will be provided as free supplies for card-making. They also plan to offer refreshments to those who come participate in the event.

Once the cards are created, they will be on display at Penn Central Mall until November 20th when they are sent out. Event participants can request that their card be sent to specific loved ones. In order to do that, they will need to provide a name and address.

This event is free and open to all ages. For more information contact Penn Central Mall at manager@penncentralmall.com or (641) 673-9414.
