Hite Passes First Bills Through Iowa House

(DES MOINES) – On Monday, Rep. Dustin Hite (R-New Sharon) successfully floor managed his first legislation in the Iowa House, passing two bills following floor debate.

House File 514 clarifies that a person convicted with three or more OWIs can be charged as a habitual offender. This legislation will make Iowa’s roads safer by holding repeat drunk drivers accountable for their actions.

Senate File 220 is a minor fix to last session’s historic tax reform bill regarding Section 179 expensing for small businesses and farmers.

House File 514 pass unanimously 94-0 and Senate file 220 passed on a bipartisan vote of 87-7.
