Heckenberg Collects NAIA Scholar-Athlete Accolade
Oskaloosa–Jonah Heckenberg (Jr., Stockport, Iowa, Business Management) was honored for his excellence in the classroom as he was named a 2022 NAIA Men’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Thursday.
Heckenberg, who is now a two-time recipient of the national award, owns a 4.0 Grade Point Average.
A total of 467 men’s cross country runners from within the NAIA were awarded the laurel.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
