Hames Garners CSC Academic All-District Laurel

Oskaloosa–Alyssa Hames (Jr., Ackley, Iowa, Psychology) was honored for a strong 2023-2024 season in and out of the classroom as she earned NAIA women’s basketball academic all-district honors from College Sports Communicators Wednesday.

Hames entered the spring semester with a 4.00 GPA. The junior started in all 27 games in which she started, averaging 11.0 points and 8.3 rebounds. She shot 45.3% from the field (30.0% 3-PT) and 70.6% from the free-throw line.

The award combines both athletic and academic achievements. To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been enrolled at the nominating institution for one year (transfers use grades from their previous institution), and have a 3.50 Grade Point Average. Additionally, individuals must compete in 90% of games or start in at least 66% of games.
