Grinnell’s Yang named to All-Region Men’s Soccer Team

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Jasper Yang ’21, who enjoyed a stellar soccer season in 2018, has received yet another honor by earning a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team.

Yang, a forward from Stow, Mass. (Nashoba Regional) who led all of NCAA Division III in shot accuracy at 70.7 percent, was named to the All-North Region third team.

Yang’s four goals and eight points in a contest against Beloit College this season ranked ninth and 10th in program history, respectively. On Grinnell’s all-time season chart, he ranked third in shots on goal per game with 1.93 and fifth in shots on goal with 29. He is 10th on Grinnell’s career shots on goal list with 45.

He was also among the Midwest Conference’s best in several categories. He was second in game-winning goals with four, third in goals (12), goals per game (0.80), points (26) and points per game (1.73), seventh in shots per game (2.73) and ninth in shots (41).

In recent weeks, Yang was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-Midwest Conference first teams.
