INDIANAPOLIS – Grinnell College’s Michael Brus ’14 has earned his fourth trip to the NCAA Division III National Swimming and Diving Championships.

Qualifiers for the event, which is slated for March 19-22 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, were announced Wednesday evening.

Brus, from Davenport, Iowa (North), won the 200-yard backstroke at last year’s NCAA D-III Championships in a national-record time of 1:44.81. He is a five-time All-American and two-time honorable mention All-American.

Brus will enter the 2014 meet ranked third in the 200 backstroke and sixth in the 100 backstroke with times of 1:46.86 and 49.21, respectively.

He is also slated to compete in the 200 freestyle, where he’s ranked 14th with a time of 1:39.19.

The Pioneers could have divers join Brus at the national meet. That will be determined when the divers compete this weekend at the Regional Championships in Grinnell.
