GRINNELL, Iowa – For the fourth time this season, Grinnell College’s Patrick Maher ’14 has been named Midwest Conference Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week.

Maher, a 6-6, 170-pound guard from Park Ridge, Ill. (Maine Township), played a huge role for the Pioneers as they wrapped up second place in the MWC while qualifying for the league tournament for the fourth year in a row. He averaged 21 points and dished out 17 assists in wins over Cornell College and Lawrence University.

After scoring 16 points and tallying seven assists against Cornell, Maher finished off the regular season in a big way by nearly compiling a triple-double against Lawrence. In that Senior Day contest, he had game-highs of 26 points and 10 assists to go along with eight rebounds.

Maher’s honor marks the seventh time this season a Pioneer men’s basketball player has been named Performer of the Week.

The MWC Women’s Performer of the Week is Marla Hannah McGinnis of Illinois College.
