Grinnell’s Grubb, Lunn are MWC Performers of the Week
GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Jack Lunn ’20, who helped the Pioneers blank Central College 9-0 Saturday, has been rewarded for that effort by being named the Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Performer of the Week.
Lunn, from Lake Forest, Ill. (Lake Forest), had a dominating performance in the victory. He posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 2 singles and joined Cole Hagerman ’22 to earn an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles. Grinnell is now 2-0 on the season.
GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Ben Grubb ’19 has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week for the final week the award will be given in 2018-19.
Grubb, from Vancouver, Wash. (Columbia River), had a big performance for the Pioneers as they dominated their own Grinnell Mini-Invite Saturday. He placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.05, the fastest time in the league this season. He was third in the 100 butterfly in 54.78, took fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.25 and was fifth in the 100 individual medley in 56.99. The individual medley time ranks fifth in the league this season.
