Grinnell’s Brown named to Academic All-District Team

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Joseph Brown ’15 has been named to the District 8 NCAA Division III Academic All-District men’s soccer team.

The award is presented by Capital One and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). By being voted to the team, Brown is eligible for Academic All-America honors.

Brown, a 5-11, 165-pound forward from Berkeley, Calif. (Berkeley), is an anthropology and education major. He leads the Pioneers this season in both assists with seven and goals with six.

A two-time All-Midwest Conference first-teamer, Brown ranks second in school history in shots with 176, third in assists with 18, fifth in points with 76 and sixth in goals with 29.

Earlier this season, he set a school record for assists in a match with four. He was a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar-Athlete last season and Academic All-Conference four times.
