Grinnell Lions’ Ag Appreciation Day
Thursday, August 29th, 3PM to 7PM
Central Park, Grinnell IA
The Grinnell Lions Club is sponsoring Ag Appreciation Day, Thursday, August 29th, 3PM to 7PM in Central Park in Grinnell.
Ag Day was started twenty years ago as a way to bring farm families, agribusiness, and community members together to recognize and celebrate all forms of agriculture and agribusiness as a major economic force in the greater Grinnell area.
There will be old and antique tractors on display, pony and hayrack rides, a pedal tractor pull, music in the gazebo by Route 66, food by Hy-Vee, demonstrations by the Grinnell Fire Department, a petting zoo put together by Grinnell FFA members, tractor games, and a tractor parade around the downtown area.
Mike Pearson, host of Iowa Public TV’s “Market to Market” will emcee the event and there will be a special tribute to Jim Urfer, one of Ag Day’s founders.
Ag Day offers fun for all ages. Many local businesses have provided financial support to help bring this event back to life. Admission is free.
Activities start at 3PM and will conclude with the tractor parade.
