GRINNELL COLLEGE ANNOUNCES 2013 HONOR G AWARDS FOR FEMALE ATHLETES

GRINNELL, Iowa – Seven female senior student-athletes were honored at the 2013 Grinnell College Honor G Banquet Saturday at Herrick Chapel.

Claire Williams ’13 and Nicole Sipfle ’13 were winners of the Grace McIlrath Parker ’11 Award for outstanding athlete in a single sport. Williams, a member of the swimming team, won the award for an individual sport and Sipfle, a soccer player, for a team sport.

Stephanie Rouse ’13 and Michelle Briggs ’13 claimed the Joyce Buck ’56 Award for top athlete in more than one sport. Rouse, who runs cross country and track, claimed the award for individual sports and Briggs for team sports. She played volleyball and basketball for the Pioneers

Laura Krull ’13 won the Honor G Scholastic Award for Women, Rouse and Isabelle Miller ’13 won the Honor G Service Award for Women and Jacqui Vautin ’13 claimed the Coaches Award. Krull is a member of the Pioneer tennis team, Miller competes in track and field as well as basketball, and Vautin runs cross country and track.
