Glenn Davis, 69 of Pella and formerly of Ottumwa and New Sharon passed away Tuesday morning, April 2, 2024 at his home in Pella. Glenn Albert Davis, the son of Charles and Barbara (Hults) Davis was born on December 21, 1954 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Glenn was a 1973 graduate of Ottumwa High School where he excelled on the wrestling team.

Glenn worked at Clow Valve Company in Oskaloosa for several years before working for Vermeer Manufacturing where they sent to him back to school at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. Glenn received his Associates Degree in Machining and continued to work at Vermeer for a while before working a few other jobs that included Donaldson’s, Precision Pulley Inc. and retiring from Emmerson’s in Marshalltown in 2020 due to health concerns.

On July 20, 2003, Glenn was united in marriage to Marlis Vogt Ringler in Blairstown, Iowa.

Glenn was an active member of the Lighthouse Church in New Sharon where he enjoyed sharing his love of music with the Men’s Worship Team. Glenn also enjoyed supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes, listening to the Blues, playing pool and Ford Mustangs.

Glenn’s legacy will be honored by his wife, Marlis Davis of Pella; his daughters, Rachel (Doug) Hull of Ottumwa, Elissa Davis of Ottumwa and Hannah Davis of Ottumwa; three step children: Kip Frits of Ottumwa, Justin Ringler of Grinnell and Sandi Ringler of Cedar Rapids; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; two brothers, Jon Davis of Knoxville and Ronald Davis of Glenwood; a sister-in-law, Marce (Terry) Miller of San Diego, CA; a brother-in-law, Darwin (Linda) Vogt of Marengo and several nieces; nephews and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Barbara Davis; his paternal grandparents that raised him, Clifford and Francis Davis and two brothers, Gary Hults and Paul Davis.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:30 am Saturday morning, April 6, 2024 at the Lighthouse Church in New Sharon.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and last until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Lighthouse Church in New Sharon. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.
