Gladys Belle Voss, age 93, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the MHP Serenity Hospice house surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Oskaloosa on November 15, 1932, the daughter of Charles and Opal (Finton) Waddell.
Gladys attended Libertyville High School, graduating with the Class of 1951.
On March 11, 1952, she was united in marriage to Harold Voss in Beacon, Iowa. Together they enjoyed over 60 years of marriage until Harold passed away on March 4, 2016.
Gladys was a homemaker while her children were young. After her children were grown, she began helping Harold with his construction business. Gladys helped build numerous homes. In 1983, she earned her real estate license and worked realty for over 30 years for Gatton Realty in Oskaloosa until retiring in 2012.
She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. She had a love of fixing up houses and remodeling.
She is survived by her children, Darrell (& Dawn) Voss of Rose Hill and David Voss of Oskaloosa; a daughter-in-law: Kathy Voss of Norwalk; grandchildren: Sarah (& Jason) Hol, Travis Voss, Christine (& fiancé, Todd Talbert)Watts, and Amanda Voss; great grandchildren: Clayton Hol, Wyatt Hol, Ayden Voss, Kayleb Voss, Katelynn Watts, Khloee Watts, Cyrus Hol and Haven Hol.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Lyle Voss and Leroy Voss; and a grandson, Cole Voss.
As was her wish, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Omega Church in Oskaloosa with Pastor Mike Sereg officiating. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
