Four Garner NAIA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

 

Oskaloosa–Four members of the Statesmen men’s soccer team were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2022 NAIA Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes Monday.

Tiago Ravagni (Sr., Buenos Aries, Argentina, Industrial Technology) leads the group with a 3.95 Grade Point Average, while Alejandro Caceres (Sr., Calpe Alicante, Spain, Business Management) follows closely behind at 3.91.

Luke Andrews (Sr., Andover, England, Sports Management), at 3.83, and Luca Venditti (Jr., Sandton, South Africa, Biology), at 3.52, also collected the award.

Nearly 1,000 men’s soccer athletes from within the NAIA were awarded the laurel.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
