(Fannie) Sue Comstock, 69, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella. She was born January 26, 1953, in Worthington, Missouri, the daughter of George and Coleen Steen Myers.

Sue graduated from Dallas Community Schools in Dallas Center, Iowa with the class of 1971.

On June 6, 1975, she was united in marriage to (Cecil) LeRoy Comstock in Ottumwa.

Following their marriage Sue worked as a Nurse’s Aide in local nursing homes and Home Health. After 13 years of providing nursing care she decided to change careers. She took a job at Wal-Mart in Oskaloosa working as a greeter and cashier, and retired from there in 2017.

Sue was a member of the Open Bible Church in Oskaloosa. She and LeRoy enjoyed traveling all over the United States. She also enjoyed doing genealogy research and collecting pig statues. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her family includes her husband of 47 years, LeRoy Comstock of Oskaloosa; three children: Rebecca Myers of Springfield, Missouri, Terry (& Kelly) Comstock of Oskaloosa, and Mark (& Jessica) Comstock of Des Moines; seven grandchildren: Austin Comstock, Justyce Comstock, Grace Comstock, Kaden Fisher, Jayden Comstock, Ethan Fisher, and Greyson Fisher; a brother, Dave (& Gretchen) Myers of Kirksville, Missouri; a sister, Joyce LaRue of Bloomfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charlie Myers and Richard Myers; and a sister, Carol Kruse.

As was Sue’s wish her body has been cremated and no services are planned.
Burial of the urn will be in the University Park Cemetery in University Park. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
