Fairy Louise Hartman, 102, of Oskaloosa, Iowa passed away on December 4, 2023. Fairy Morris Hartman was born on May 18, 1921, to Jake and Rebecca Morris.
She graduated from Moravia High School in 1940.
She worked at the A & P grocery store, and as a housewife the rest of her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed being outside and walking in her earlier years.
She is survived by son, Gary Hartman; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hartman; sister-in-law, Lottie Dolly Dye; many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by grandchildren Ranee (Ebon) Carter, Tiah (Kevin) Hunt, and Tony Lehs; as well as great grandchildren Elizabeth (Jacob) Hanan, Hannah (Marcellus) Willoughby; Clarke, Dean, Easten, and Flynn Hunt; and Milo, Kailey, and Jaxson Lehs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger; and son Ronald; as well as brothers August, Vanice, and Evertt; sister Violet. Brothers and sister-in-laws: William (Pinky) Hartman, Jack (Mary) Hartman, Betty (Del) Smith, Dorothy (Harry) Warwick, and Don Dye.
Services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Ebon Carter officiating. Burial will be at the Forest Cemetery following funeral services. Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to MHP Hospice Serenity House or the Oskaloosa Care Center.
