Edward Lee Conger 71, of Ollie passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Edward was born March 9, 1941, in Linby, Iowa to Woodrow and Wanda (VanOrsdall) Conger. When he was young, Edward walked from his parent’s home in Pekin, Iowa to the Prairie Home School to attend classes. In the 8th grade he transferred to Ollie Consolidated School. He was united in marriage to Linda Ruggles November 23, 1985 in the Ollie Baptist Church in Ollie, Iowa. He enjoyed nature, hunting and fishing, which began in his early childhood. He worked over the years for many local farmers. One of his favorite pastimes was walking the fields in search of Indian Artifacts. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting.

Edward is survived by his wife; Linda of Ollie, his daughter; Marlys Ruggles (& Marty Fleig) of Packwood; two grandsons: Derek Sharp of Ollie and Wyatt Sharp of Packwood, two great-grandsons; Sammuel Lee Sharp and Nolan Ryan Sharp. Six brothers: Dean (& Bev) Conger, Delbert (& Ruth) Conger, James (& Mary Lou) Conger all of Ollie, Robert Conger, Larry (& Janet) Conger both of Packwood, and Dale (& Kathy) Conger of Martinsburg. Five sisters; Arlene Shy of Dixon, Missouri, Juanita (& Eugene) Jones of Martinsburg, Joyce Kopsieker, Judy (& Bob) Ellis, and Carolyn Skinner all of Ollie. He was loved by numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Linda and Darlene Conger, three brothers; Paul, Raymond and Ralph Conger. His son Mickey Dean Ruggles and his granddaughter; Dena Lee Sharp.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m. March 01, 2013 at Fremont Funeral Chapel
Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. March 02, 2013 at Fremont Funeral Chapel
Interment: VanOrsdall Cemetery

Memorials may be made in his name to Noah Conger or Reagan Kopsieker, for future medical expenses.
