EBF Students Shine at Solo Contest

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont

On Saturday April 6th, Students from Eddyville Blakesburg Fremont High School performed at the State Solo and Ensemble Contest at Pella Christian High School. The EBF students earned 9 Division I Ratings and 6 Division II ratings. Those students earning division I ratings (superior) were: Jessica Jones, Flute & Piccolo solos, Samantha Claypool; alto sax solo, Anna Haselhuhn; trumpet solo, Riley Arnold; alto sax solo, Gage DeLaCruz; trumpet solo, Emma Haselhuhn; tenor sax solo, Devon Severson; clarinet solo, and Claypool and Haselhuhn; alto / tenor sax duet.

Students receiving Division II ratings (excellent) were: Neisha Van Gorp and Shelby Dunwoody; flute / clarinet duet, Aaron Huff; tuba solo, Faith Starr; clarinet solo, Hope Starr; flute solo, Aislynn Stockdall; vocal solo, and Mika Farnum; vocal solo. Irene Roberts also had an excellent performance on her vocal solo. Directors Joe Overton and Chris Ellerston were very proud of everyone’s performance.
