Dr. Marridee Ann Randall, age 62, of Albia, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at her home in Albia, after a long battle with Colon Cancer, under the care of EveryStep Hospice, surrounded by her loved ones. Married was born on June 21, 1957, at Des Moines General Hospital to James and Barbara (Rawlins) McCormick.
Marridee grew up and attended school in Chariton, IA, graduating from the Chariton High School with the Class of 1975.
She married Mike Randall on August 28, 1976, at Red Haw State Park in Chariton. To this union, 3 children were born, Zach, Matt, and Samantha. Marridee and Mike shared 43 years of marriage prior to her passing.
Marridee attended school at Indian Hills Community College, graduating with her LPN in 1980. She went to Iowa State University for premed before attending the University of Iowa and then completing her residency in Iowa City in 1996.
Marridee then began practicing as a doctor at the Monroe County Clinic in March of 1996, where she was loved by many patients and her coworkers. She was a board certified member of the American Medical Association.
She enjoyed being outdoors and gardening and loved her cats and dogs, especially 2 special dogs, Molly and Sally. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marridee is survived by her husband, Mike of Albia; 3 children: Zach (& Tiffany) Randall of Newton, Matt Randall of Albia, and Sammy Randall of Bondurant; 4 grandchildren: Gabby, Makayla, Zachlyn, and Jack; her mother, Barbara McCormick of Chariton; 5 siblings: Janet (& Tom) Janeck of Pennsylvania, Blake (& Michelle) McCormick of Lucas, Kenneth (& Kelly) McCormick of Chariton, Karl McCormick of Chariton, and James McCormick of Knoxville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, James McCormick.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Marridee’s family present to greet family and friends.
A Celebration service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia.
A memorial has been established to the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.
