Deucore, Hargis Earn First Team SICL

NEW SHARON – North Mahaska saw three volleyball players earn first or second team all-South Iowa Cedar League honors. Zoe Deucore and Layla Hargis were named to the first team and Kaitlyn VanDonselaar was named to the second team. Regan Grewe and Carlie Scholtus received honorable mention.

Deucore, a senior, led the SICL in digs with 559 and surpassed the 1,000 career mark earlier this month. Hargis was fourth in kill attempts with 551 with a kill efficiency of .160 and 152 kills. She was a 97 percent server with 28 aces.

VanDonselaar was second in serve attempts and successes going 316-for-342. She recorded 42 aces. She was ninth in assists with 223.

Grewe had 75 kills, 10 blocks and 85 digs on the season. Scholtus recorded 88 kills and 191 digs. Additionally, she was credited with 29 aces on 85.3 percent serving.
