David “Dave” Norman Vore, age 70, of Albia, IA, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at his home, under the care of EveryStep Hospice. Dave was born on January 12, 1952, at the hospital in Omaha, NE, to Marvin C. Sr. and Norma Ruth (Shamblen) Vore.

In the end, he was surrounded by his wife, LuAnn, and 3 of his children, Jeffrey (Jamie) Vore, Natalie (Travis) Sipes, and Anthony (Kayla) Alberts.

Dave attended school and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, IA, before going to Southwestern Community College in Creston on a basketball scholarship where he obtained his Associate of Arts degree.

On August 31, 1996, he was united in marriage to his best friend and the love of his life, LuAnn Raveling in Cherokee, IA. They shared 26 years of marriage prior to Dave’s passing.

Dave worked for 30 years for American Family Insurance, as a sales agent and as a district manager.

In his younger years, Dave excelled at basketball. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, trapping, gardening and walking his dogs, Dottie and Jiggy. Dave was a lifetime member of the Iowa Trappers Association (ITA) and the National Trappers Association (NTA) as well as a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). He also enjoyed collecting and shooting guns, as well as watching Iowa Hawkeye sports, especially basketball.

Dave is also survived by 2 other sons; 2 brothers; his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Dave’s wishes, his body has been cremated and a private family burial will be held at Oak View Cemetery in Albia at a later date.
