We gather here to celebrate and remember the life of Darin Van Arkel, a man who brought light, laughter, and joy to everyone he met. Darin was born in Oskaloosa, IA on December 27, 1968, to parents Kenneth and Connie Van Arkel.

Darin was a vibrant soul who made his mark on the world with his unique charm and engaging personality.

Darin was a man of many talents and interests. He had a knack for finding humor in the ordinary and a gift for making people feel special and valued. Darin’s laughter was infectious, and his radiant smile could light up any room. Unmarried but never alone, he was a beloved son and brother, and a cherished friend to many. His love for life and his unwavering spirit left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his adoring mother, Connie Van Arkel; sons, Brandon & Robert; his brothers, Steve & Michael Van Arkel; and his sister, Tina Van Arkel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; and sister, Joni.

As we mourn the loss of Darin, let us also celebrate his life and remember the joy he brought to ours. His spirit, his laughter, and his love will forever be a part of us, a beautiful legacy that continues to inspire and uplift.

To honor Darin’s memory, we will be having a celebration of life event at a later date.
