Dance Earns Split at Concordia Duals
Seward, Neb. – The William Penn competitive dance squad secured a victory Saturday while competing at the Concordia Day of Duals.
The Statesmen opened the event against Concordia but came up short, falling 85.7-75.25. However, they bounced back in their second matchup, edging out Northwestern with a narrow 74.2-71.5 win.
Despite the victory, William Penn finished with an overall score of 149.45, missing a top-three placement. Viterbo claimed first place with a score of 179.1.
“This weekend, dance put out two very strong performances that I know I’m very proud of, and they were, too. Scores don’t always go in our favor, but this team is strong, and I am blessed to be their coach,” Head Coach Abby Reynolds said. “The girls have grit and want to keep pushing the level of dancing we are doing. I cannot wait for the rest of our competitive season and where this team will go.”
Next Up: The Statesmen travel to Orange City, Iowa, on February 14-15 to compete in the Northwestern Invitational.
