Constance Mae Ellis, age 60, died of cancer in her home in San Jose on March 22, 2019. Her husband, Rich, and daughter, Kate, were by her side. Constance was born May 29, 1958 in Grinnell to Robert and Betty (Gregory) Ellis.

Constance attended schools in Montezuma, Hedrick, Platte City, MO, Waterloo and Cedar Falls. Constance received her BA in Nursing from San Jose State.

In 1996 she was united in marriage to Richard Logsdon in Montezuma. They were blessed with one daughter, Katherine Mae.

Major Constance Ellis served in the military for 20 years until her retirement in 2009. She was also a nurse in the Labor and Delivery and high-risk Pregnancy Department at Good Samaritan Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 2019.

Constance enjoyed quilting, reading, walking the dogs and traveling, especially to the ocean.

She is survived by her husband, Rich; daughter, Kate; mother, Betty Ellis of Grinnell; brothers: Chris (& Lorna) Loftin, of Platte City, MO., Greg (& LuAnn) Ellis of Des Moines, and Richard (& Sandy) Ellis of Webster City; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and supportive friends.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Robert; grandparents: Paul and May Ellis, Mae Gregory, Oral Gregory, and David and Bertha Loftin.

A Celebration of Life was held for Constance April 14, 2019 in San Jose, CA.
Graveside Military Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
