Connie Sue Farlow, 55, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 19, 1957, in Mahaska County the daughter of Gerald and Barbara Harris Garrett. Connie worked as a dietary aide for care facilities in Oskaloosa first at Pleasant Park (now Crystal Heights) and lastly at Northern Mahaska Nursing Home, retiring from there in October of 2012 due to ill health. On January 1, 2011, she was united in marriage to James Farlow at the Armory in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing and watching the birds. She also enjoyed collecting, eagle, angel, and Native American figurines. She was a very loving and caring person and had a very generous heart.

Her family includes her three children, Christina (& Larry) Beason of Oskaloosa, Daniel (& Wendy) Beason of Ollie, and Amanda (& Dennis) O’Brien of Oskaloosa; 18 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two step daughters, Patricia (& Jeff) Taylor of Truro, Iowa and Jackie (& Andy) Longobardi of Lamar, Missouri; six step grandchildren; five sisters, Donna (& Jerry) Rogers, Sandy LeJeune, Jackie (& Tim) Nance, Melinda (& Carl) Edwards all of Oskaloosa, and Pat (& Norman Kirby) Walker of Goodland, Kansas; and a brother, Chad Garrett of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Floyd Garrett.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend John DeBoef officiating.
Burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery near What Cheer. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Monday morning after 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 6-8 Monday evening to greet friends and relatives.

A memorial has been established in her name.
