Community 1st Credit Union Helps Sieda Community Action to Share the Warmth

Ottumwa, Iowa, November 6, 2019– Sieda Community Action is pleased to recognize Community 1st Credit Union as the sponsor for the 2019-2020 coat drive. From now through March 1, 2020 Community 1st Credit Union will be collecting new or gently-used coats at their locations in Bloomfield, Centerville, Fairfield, Oskaloosa, and Ottumwa. The coats collected will be distributed to families in need throughout Sieda’s seven-county service area.

“Each year Sieda Community Action provides warm coats and jackets to more than 1,000 children and adults across Southeast Iowa. With the help of Community 1st, we’re hopeful we can do even more to help ensure the health and safety of families during the cold winter months.” Said Brian Dunn, Executive Director of Sieda Community Action.

Sieda Community Action is a private non-profit organization established in 1965 as a Community Action Agency. Sieda and all Community Services Block Grant eligible entities are tasked with providing a range of programs designed to address the causes and conditions of poverty. Sieda’s focus on education, economic support, and health and well-being helps strengthen families and personal relationships, promote child development, remove barriers to overcoming poverty, and help individuals and families with basic needs. With the strong foundation Sieda provides, individuals are more likely to become self-reliant and contribute positively to their families and communities.
