OTTUMWA — You played the board game in your youth, you saw the 1985 film starring Tim Curry in the theatre, and now you can see Clue On Stage at Indian Hills Community College. Clue, based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn with additional material by Hunter Foster, Eric Price and Sandy Rustin, will be performed in St. John Auditorium on the IHCC Ottumwa campus on Nov. 29-30 and Dec. 1, with show time at 7:30 p.m. all three nights.

“This is a show that depends on expert timing,” says director Jennifer Boyenga, “and our students are rising to the challenge to create hilarious performances. Those who attend will find out who did what, in the study, with the wrench.”

Co-director Ray Slavens adds, “It is fun and challenging to create a large and complex set on our stage, including lots of hidden entrance and exit points for this fast-paced comedy.”

What happens when six unsuspecting visitors show up at Boddy Manor after they receive mysterious letters summonsing them to attend? Chaos ensues as Colonel Mustard, played by Elijah Muntz (Agency); Mrs. Peacock, played by Bianca Cardona (Keota); Mr. Green, played by Joseph Culp (Pleasantville); Mrs. White, played by Savanah Summers (Bloomfield); Professor Plum, played by Chance Bender (Pleasantville); and Miss Scarlet, played by Katrina Sample (Albia), are welcomed to the mansion of Mr. Boddy, played by Pablo Alvarado (Ottumwa), and by the sinister butler, Wadsworth, played by Geovanny Marrero Correa (Puerto Rico). As corpses start to accumulate, the group attempts to find out who the murderer is with the help of Yvette, the French maid, played by Erin McElderry (Pleasant Hill); the Cook, played by Khloe Snackenburg (Sigourney); and several unfortunate guests. The cast also includes Taith May (Albia) as the Motorist; Demitrius Mitchell (Harvey, Illinois) as the Cop; Hannah Haring (Cambria) as a Singing Telegram Girl; Seth Bethune (Hedrick) and Mich Putnam (Fairfield) as FBI Agents; Ashley Gorrell (Danville) as a Maid; and Luis Valverde (Ottumwa) as a Reporter.

Musical accompaniment will be provided by Hailey Parrish (Ottumwa), who teaches music in the Davis County school system. The stage manager for the show is Peyton Nelson (Ottumwa), assisted by Kelli Chapman (Milo). The technical crew includes Bryan Brain (Hedrick), Carrie Combites (Blandinsville, Illinois), and Mckenzie Hammes (What Cheer).
There is free admission to the performance.
