CCA’s defense took control in the second half, holding Oskaloosa scoreless. Poynton scored twice more, including a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. CCA dominated the ground game, rushing for 210 yards compared to Oskaloosa’s -21 net rushing yards.

The game was marked by Oskaloosa’s difficulty in sustaining drives, as they converted only 5 of 12 third-down attempts. Turnovers and penalties also hurt the Indians’ chances, with two fumbles lost and nine penalties for 75 yards.
