Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of the October Player of the Month awards.

Sophomore golfer Zachary Chegwidden (Essex, England, Business Management) earned the Male award, while junior soccer player Riley Ludwig (Big Bear City, Calif., Biology) took home the Female honor. The accolade is the first for both.

In four tournaments that included 10 rounds, Chegwidden owned a 72.4 stroke average. He broke par four times with three rounds in the 60s (low of 66). The sophomore won the title at the Grand View Tournament, and in doing so, he set a school 54-hole record. Chegwidden, who was twice named Heart of America Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week, tallied two other top-10 efforts.

In eight games, Ludwig managed a 4-3-1 record with a 0.96 Goals Against Average. She shut out three opponents and saved 76 shots for a .905 save percentage. The junior collected two Heart Defensive Player of the Week laurels.
