Charles A. Gott passed away September 21, 2017, at the age of 94. He was born in Washington County, Iowa, on September 4, 1923, to Glen and Nina Maude (Shelly) Gott and moved to Ollie when he was one year old. He was the 2nd of 6 children.

Charles graduated from Ollie High School in 1940.

Chales was married December 17, 1949, to Betty M. Hollingsworth at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Early in life Charles farmed. He later retired in 1986 after 30 years with Kaser Construction Co.

During his lifetime Charles enjoyed roller skating, square and country dancing, golf, fishing and hunting, spending winters in Arizona, and he especially enjoyed being with his family. He was a lifelong member of the Ollie Baptist Church.

Surviving family members include: his wife, Betty; 2 daughters: Sharman (& Tom) Neece of Sigourney and Terri (& Steve) Bowles of Raymore, Missouri; 3 grandchildren: Amy (& Curt) Kahler, Stephanie (& Tyler) Downey and Dustin (& Jennifer) Bowles; 10 great grandchildren: Dakota, Noah and Delaney Kahler, Sadie Bowles, Cate, Grant and Sloane Downey, and Aubree, Hailee and Felicity Hosiner; a special niece, Denise Willhoit; a brother, Gordon (& Marilyn) Gott; 3 sisters-in-law, Betty C. Gott, Nell (& Gary) Petterson and Dorothy Hollingsworth; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Donald, Robert and Norman Gott; and a sister, Lucille Volkmann.

Graveside service will be held on September 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ollie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Keokuk County.
