PELLA — Previously serving as an intern with the sports information department at Central College, Kris Graewin will be adding assistant men’s golf coach to his duties in 2017-18.

Graewin, a 2016 graduate of Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin, played for the V-Hawks for four years. He helped Viterbo to a runner-up finish at the North Star Athletic Association Championship as a senior, placing fifth (75-80-74-79—308). He was a first team all-league pick and maintained a 79.4 average in 14 rounds that season.

“I’m really excited to have him,” coach Jon Olson said. “He’s going to be a great asset to the team. He’s young and really understands how the college game works. I think he will relate really well to the players.”

The Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin native was in Pella for the 2016-17 academic year working in Central’s sports information office. He served as the primary contact for the men’s golf team and spent time around the program.

“It’s going to help that our current players are familiar with him,” Olson said. “Having been here a year already, he really understands the culture of Central.”

Including Olson and Graewin, the men’s golf staff grows to three as Clint Brown remains with the team as a volunteer assistant coach.

The season for the Dutch begins on September 1 at the Culver’s Edgewood Fall Classic in Janesville, Wisconsin.
