Carol Ann Wignall, age 84, of Albia, IA, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. Carol was born on November 27, 1937, in Ohio to Darrell and Ruth Batton.

Carol was united in marriage to Charles Cox and to this union, 2 sons were born, Bill and Steven. Charles passed away and Carol later married Derald Wignall, who also preceded her in death.

Carol worked at Big Bear, which later became Little Bear in Albia. She then worked at DeLongs in Albia before lastly going to work at Trophy Glove.

Carol enjoyed gardening, going to flea markets and raising cats.

Carol is survived by her 2 sons, Bill Cox and Steven Cox; and 5 sisters: Nancy, Donna, Mary, Betty, and Loretta.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Cox and Derald Wignall; her parents, Darrell and Ruth Batton; and a brother, Bill.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Carol’s family present from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. to greet family and friends.

No funeral services are planned.

An open memorial has been established to the family.
