Cain Campaign clears Iowa campaign headquarters
Urbandale, Iowa- Businessman Herman Cain’s former Iowa Campaign Headquarters opened its doors for a few hours today, but they were all but campaigning. Today from 4 PM to 7 PM, the office opened its doors to allow Cain supporters to come up and get their share of various different Cain campaign memorabilia items. An e-mail sent to supporters over the weekend said that the campaign still had a large amount of Herman Cain signs, buttons, stickers, brochures and other Cain items. The e-mail went on to state that the campaign would be giving away the material for free at their headquarters Monday evening.
At the headquarters, large highway signs to small window signs were scattered around in piles and were available to take along with a variety of campaign buttons and bumper stickers. The local campaign office had received a shipment of signs right before Cain’s announcement that he was suspending his campaign. By 5 PM, around 10 people had shown up to the headquarters. Three local residents went up to Des Moines to cache in on the free campaign gear. Shoshannah Harwell was one of them. “As a Herman Cain supporter, it was sad to see such a vacant building filled with things once used to help with the campaign. It was a great experience to be a part of it though,” Harwell said.
