Bryce Bruxvoort, 60, of Oskaloosa, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 18, 2021. Bryce Lee Bruxvoort, son of Bernard Glen and Wilma Dora (Schimmel) Bruxvoort, was born August 30, 1960, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Bryce attended the Oskaloosa Christian School as a youngster and finished his education at Pella Christian High School, where he graduated in 1978.

Bryce married Sandi Bandstra on January 20, 1979, at the Scholte Church in Pella. They made their home in Oskaloosa.

Following his education, he was employed at Klyn Tire; he worked in the shop and did the garage’s service calls. After 20 years with Klyn’s, Bryce worked for a short time with PDG Motor Sports. In May 1999, Bryce went to work for Mahaska Bottling/Snack Express; he worked for the company for the next 20 years until health concerns in 2020 required his retirement.

Bryce was a life-time member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, church league, and industrial league softball. Bryce was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and attending Kansas City Chief’s games. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and truly enjoyed watching them perform in school activities and sporting events.

Bryce’s family includes his wife of 42 years, Sandi of Oskaloosa; his daughter and son-in-law, Becki and Ben Gatton of Delta, IA; and six grandchildren: Mason Ford, Morgan Ford, Ella Gatton, Eli Gatton, Sydney Gatton, and Jake Gatton. He is also survived by a brother, Daryl Bruxvoort (& Sandy Caya) of Elkader, IA; two sisters: Pat (& Ken) Arkema of Coralville, IA and Connie (& Tim) Johnson of Celina, TX; several nephews and nieces, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bryce was preceded in death by his parents.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 22, 2021, at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Public Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, with Rev. Doug Van Der Pol officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, March 21, 2021, with family present from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday at Langkamp Funeral Chapel.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and appropriate personal protective equipment are required for attending these public events.
