Brinkman Earns Defender of the Week Award

Oskaloosa–Ben Brinkman (Fr., Appleton, Wis., Undecided) was a menace at the net and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Volleyball Defender of the Week Monday, presented by Molten.

The freshman’s award is the first of his career; this is the first week for the Heart men’s volleyball awards. He collected his recognition after two big performances in Indiana last weekend.

Brinkman started the week with six block assists against Indiana Tech last Friday. He then tacked on eight more stops (two solos, six assists) versus Lawrence Tech last Saturday.

Along with his defensive prowess, the middle hitter notched 10 total kills on a .280 attack clip in addition to one dig.

For the year, Brinkman has posted 32 total blocks (seven solos, 25 assists), while also managing 30 kills on a .294 attack percentage.
