Brenda San, age 64, of Oskaloosa, passed away on December 25, 2022, at her home in Des Moines, Iowa, under Hospice care surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 31, 1958, in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of James and Elenora (Dille) Adkins.

Brenda attended Grinnell High School and graduated with the Class of 1976.

Brenda was a homemaker for most of her life, taking care of her home and raising her children. She also worked and managed several different places in the Oskaloosa community, but she really shined and enjoyed her job at Mahaska Drug.

Brenda enjoyed crafting, baking, working in her garden, watching sports and listening to the Oskaloosa Indians on the radio, collecting TY Beanie Babies and cooking. Her real joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Her family includes her children: Navie San of Des Moines, Jamie (& Seth) Blind of Des Moines, Seane (& Shannon) San of Oskaloosa, Hollie (& Fred) Griggs, San of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Brandie (& Chanse) Fuller of Oskaloosa and Theron (& Elizabeth) San of Cedar Falls; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Randy (& Ro) Adkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Mark Adkins; and other aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023, beginning after 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5-7 p.m. Monday evening to greet relatives and guests. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
