Brenda Lynn Hook, 48, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. She was born to parents Wayne Hook and Margaret (Peggy) Hook, on Tuesday, March 23, 1971, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Brenda graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1989. She went on to study Accounting at Arizona State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Brenda worked in the Accounting and Financial Investment field her whole life. Most recently she was working for Primerica in Des Moines. She always had a knack for numbers and enjoyed working with people. Brenda was passionate about higher education. She set her sights on getting a Master’s in Business Administration. Brenda worked hard and earned her degree in 2009.
Brenda enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her smile could light up a room. Brenda also loved animals especially dogs. She always had a soft spot for a furry friend. The family dog, Lola, was a daily comfort and watched over her.
Brenda is survived by her parents, Wayne and Margaret (Peggy) Hook of Des Moines; her Grandmother, Lee Anderson of Oskaloosa; sister, Jennifer & (Todd) Rea of Cedar Falls; brother, Aaron & (Kelli) Hook of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Special Friend, Michael Moroney; nephews: Jace Rea, Grant Rea, and Breck Rea; and niece, Sophia Hook.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. in the Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa.
As was Brenda’s wish her body will be cremated following the funeral ceremony.
Burial of her urn will be in the Forest Cemetery at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Friday after 4:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5:00-7:00 Friday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to Central United Methodists Church in Oskaloosa and Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter.
