William “Bill” Rempp, 88 of Montezuma passed away Wednesday morning, November 6, 2019 at the Montezuma Specialty Care.
William “Bill” Lee Rempp, the son of Paul and Claudine (Crisman) Rempp, was born on February 20, 1931 near Montezuma, Iowa.

Bill was a 1948 graduate of Montezuma High School.

On December 2, 1951, Bill was united in marriage to Marjorie Ver Beek at the Montezuma Christian Church. To this union two children were born, Denise and Kevin.

Bill was a lifelong farmer and began farming with his father at a young age. Following his father’s death when Bill was 20 years old, he continued farming the family farm with the help of his son, Kevin, when he was old enough, and eventually his grandson, Drew. Bill was very proud of his Century Farm and was awarded the Iowa Outstanding Young Farmer by Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1962 and the Wallace’s Farmer Master Farmer Award in 1979.

Bill and Marjorie were very supportive of the Montezuma FFA and very proud to have their children and grandchildren involved. They established the Rempp Family FFA Achievement Scholarship Award that has been around for nearly 30 years. Bill served on the Montezuma School Board, he was very active in the Montezuma Lions Club and he was a Charter Member of the Jackson Church of Christ where he served as an Elder. Bill and Marjorie also enjoyed the winter months in Texas for the previous 30 years.

His legacy will be honored by his wife of nearly 68 years, Marjorie Rempp of Montezuma; children: Denise Harlan of West Des Moines and Kevin (& Terri) Rempp of Montezuma; five grandchildren: Matthew (& Shannon) Harlan, Eric (& Marly) Harlan, Stephanie (& Brandon) Sheckels, Heather (& Ryan) Ellis and Drew (& Brittany) Rempp; 14 great grandchildren: Brody Harlan, Dylan Harlan, Zach Harlan, Lexi Harlan, Tori Harlan, Shiloh Harlan, Skyler Harlan, Brielle Sheckels, Julia Sheckels, Lana Ellis, Owen Ellis, Will Rempp, Parker Rempp and Emma Rempp; a sister, Joyce (& Don) Hall of Montezuma; and many other relatives and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Jackson Church of Christ in Montezuma.
Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Fire Department or the Montezuma Food Pantry.
