Beck Has Additional Charges Added

Ervin Lindsey Beck III

Ervin Lindsey Beck, age 45 of 707 5th Ave East in Oskaloosa was charged with Aiding and Abetting 1st Degree Robbery in connection with the armed robbery of Medicap Pharmacy on April 20th.

In a press release by the Oskaloosa Police Department on the additional charge to Beck:

On April 27, 2011 the Oskaloosa Police Department charged Ervin Lindsey Beck of Oskaloosa with Aiding and abetting 1st degree robbery. This charge stems from an investigation into the robbery that ocurred on April 20, 2011 at the Medicap Pharmacy in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The defendant is believed to have participated in the robbery by the following , assist in the purchase of the weapon used in the robbery and supplying sun glasses to be worn by the suspect to help conceal their identity from store personel and authorities.

Aiding and abetting 1st degree robbery is a class “B” felony punishable by up to twenty five years in a state pennitentiary.

Beck is accused of helping Heather Renee Rohr, age 30 and also of 707 5th Ave East in Oskaloosa. Rohr is being charged with First Degree Robbery in the Medicap Pharmacy armed robbery.

The Oskaloosa Police had released this statement on April 22nd, in regards to this case:

On Friday, April 22, 2011 the Oskaloosa Police Department charged Heather Renee Rohr, age 30, of Oskaloosa with First Degree Robbery. This charge is in regards to the robbery reported at the Medicap Pharmacy which is located at 504 A Avenue West Oskaloosa Iowa on April 20, 2011 at approximately 1:00 p.m.

Rohr and Beck now both residing in the Mahaska County Jail are also facing the following charges in connection with a separate incident at Mahaska Drug occurring on the same day. They are charged with “Attempt to Obtain Prescription Drug or Device by Deceit”. “This charge is based upon the allegation that the defendants, Ervin Lindsey Beck III and Heather Renee Rohr on or about April 20, 2011, in Mahaska County, Iowa did: Unlawfully perform, cause the performance of, or aid and abet another to obtain or attempt to obtain a prescription drug or device or to obtain the administration of a prescription drug or device by fraud, deceit, misrepresentation or subterfuge and said drug being a controlled substance as defined by Iowa Code Section 124.40 (1)(c)(8), to wit:Morphine Sulphat.”

Witnesses in this case are: Gary McClun, Officer, Oskaloosa Police Department, Troy Boston, Officer, Oskaloosa Police Department, Jane Nicholson, Owner and License Pharmacist, Mahaska Drug, Doctor David Chacko, Green Vision Group, Wichita, Kansas.

In other legal action, Beck also faces Aiding and Abetting 1st Degree Robbery. This charge is a felony.

In a complaint and affidavit filed in the Iowa District Court for Mahaska County, it is alleged that Beck on or” about the 20th day of April, 2011 at approximately 1:03 p.m. at Medicap Pharmacy located at 504 A Ave West in Oskaloosa Iowa in Mahaska County, did Unlawfully assist another person in the commission of a forcible felony. The defendant supplied another person merchandise to hide their identity and assisted with the purchase of a dangerous weapon to be used in the commission of a forcible felony.”

“On Wednesday April 20, 2011 the Oskaloosa Police Department responded to a robbery call at 504 A Ave West in Oskaloosa, Iowa. During the robbery a black handgun was used and the suspect was wearing dark sunglasses. The robbery was captured on surveilance video. This investigator later learned that the defendant (Ervin Beck) assisted Heather Rohr in her attempt to rob the Medicap Pharmacy. The defendant assisted in the purchase of the weapon used in the robbery, it was also discovered that the defendant supplied sunglasses owned by him to Ms Rohr who inturn wore them to conceal her identity from store employees and authorities. The glasses believed to be used in the robbery are in the possession of the police department. The police department also has video footage of the defendant assisting in the purchase of the weapon.”

Heather Renee Rohr is accused of the crime of 1st Degree Robbery in violation of Section 711.1 711.2 of the Iowa Criminal Code, which is a felony, in that the defendant on or about the 20 day of April, 2011, at approximately 1:03 p.m. at: Medicap Pharmacy 504 A Ave West Oskaloosa Iowa in Mahaska county, did Unlawfully enter the above business with the intent to commit a theft by demanding Schedule II controlled substance while displaying a black handgun.

“On Wednesday April 20, 2011 shortly after 1:00 p.m. the Oskaloosa Police Department responded to 504 A Ave West (Medicap Pharmacy) in Oskaloosa in regards to a robbery that had just occurred. Investigating into this incident it was discovered that a female approximately 5’8″ medium build, brown hair pulled back into a pony tail, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, bluejeans, dark colored shoes with white trimmed soles, and black gloves entered the business demanding Schedule II controlled substances. At the same time, this female took out a black handgun from a black bag she was carrying and displayed it to the employees. The female was told that they had no Schedule II controlled substances and she left throughout a back door. The robbery was caught on video and in reviewing this video, the female has been identified as the defendant listed above. Items from the robbery have been recovered by this officer (Troy Boston) and link the defendant to the robbery as well.”

A criminal charge is merely a criminal charge and not an indication of guilt. All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
