Beasley Tabbed as Best Player in NAIA Division II Last Week
Oskaloosa–Brandon Beasley (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind., Physical Education) has been having one of those years and he was finally recognized for his accomplishments as he earned NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors Monday.
The six-time league POW beat out a talented pool of others around the nation to garner the program’s first national award since Danny Lund was honored on January 18, 2005.
Beasley averaged 20.0 points and 16.0 rebounds, including 28 points versus the Mustangs. He also tied a career high with 17 rebounds against AIB. The senior, who shot 53.6% from the floor, also averaged 4.5 steals, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks last week. He now has ten double-doubles and has eclipsed the 20-point mark 12 times.
For the year, Beasley is averaging 19.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in addition to 92 assists, 67 steals, and 34 blocks. He is shooting 53.5% overall and owns a 69.1% clip from the charity stripe.
Nationally, the senior ranks eighth in steals per game (2.6), 16th in scoring, and 27th in rebounding.
