Iowa wins 54-21 in Des Moines

DES MOINES -The Iowa Barnstormers (11-3) beat the Cedar Rapids Titans (3-11) 54-21 Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.

At the start of the first quarter Iowa quarterback Drew Powell scored on a 14-yard touchdown run. On the next drive Powell marched the ball in for another touchdown run. Cedar Rapids quarterback Jake Medlock connected with wide receiver Connor Hollenbeck for the touchdown, but the extra point was no good.

At the start of the second quarter Iowa running back Jamal Tyler scored on a 24-yard touchdown run. Iowa wide receiver Brady Roland completed the pass from Powell for the touchdown. Powell ran the ball 9-yards for the Iowa touchdown, but the extra point was no good. Medlock completed the pass to wide receiver Javon Bell for the Cedar Rapids touchdown, and the two-point conversion was good. Roland completed the touchdown pass from Powell for Iowa, but the extra point was no good.

At the start of the third quarter Tyler scored on a 16-yard touchdown run for Iowa. Cedar Rapids running back Marquel Wade answered back with a 5-yard touchdown run. Iowa quarterback Grant Rohach marched the ball in for a short touchdown run.

The Barnstormers will return to Wells Fargo Arena on Friday, June 22, 2018 for the first round of the Indoor Football League(IFL) playoffs against the Nebraska Danger.
