OSKALOOSA, IA— Two more after school theatre camps are ready to take the stage just in time for spring at the George Daily Youth Theatre. Join the Elementary School Play, “Giants in the Sky,” or start your musical journey with the Music Studio Cabaret!

The George Daily Youth Theatre will once again bring the Elementary School Play to area students. There are high school plays, and middle school plays, but this production is designed just for elementary school students. “Giants in the Sky,” A New Children’s Musical with Music and Lyrics by Denver Casado and Book and Lyrics by Kerry Kazmierowicztrimm, is presented through special arrangement with Beat by Beat Press (www.bbbpress.com). This production is just for students in Kindergarten-5th grade. Auditions will be on March 4th at 3:30pm at the Auditorium. Performers will then receive a rehearsal schedule and spend the next seven weeks putting together the production. The performance will be Saturday, April 27th at 7:00PM.

The elementary school play will be directed by new Youth Theatre teacher, Devin McCain. Devin is currently a Central College senior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Art History. Previously, she has worked on the Des Moines Performing Arts’ summer camp production and is eager to bring her experience and talents to the students of Oskaloosa.

Also this spring, the George Daily Music Studio takes the stage as an after-school camp for the first time in Youth Theatre history! Ever wanted to take voice or piano lessons? Our Music Studio Cabaret is the place to start! Sign up to get weekly lessons at a discounted rate and work

towards a cabaret style showcase where you’ll perform your own solo or ensemble musical number. Music Education Director Allison McGuire will run the camp and is excited to offer music lessons as part of the Youth Theatre after school sessions. Camp will be from March 11th- April 19th, and weekly lessons will be scheduled individually based on camper schedules.

Registration and payment will be accepted through the first day of camp. If you would like to discuss need-based financial aid or alternate payment plans, those options are available. Please contact the Education Director Andy McGuire at 641-672-3795 or youth@georgedaily.org. More information and registration forms can be picked up at the George Daily Auditorium office or online at www.georgedaily.org under the Education tab.
